Lucía is an architect, urban planner, and designer dedicated to sustainable mobility, public spaces, and street design. Holding degrees from UNAM in México City and the Pratt Institute in New York, she has led projects across multiple Latin American cities, transforming mobility corridors and public spaces.

With roles at GDCI, the Public Space Authority of Mexico City, and the NYC Department of Transportation, Lucía bridges sectors to shape equitable urban environments. Currently, as a freelancer consulting for the Global Designing Cities Initiative (GDCI), she enhances road safety and sustainable mobility efforts in cities in the Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia. 

Lucía has contributed to publications as author and editor and has participated in multiple conferences for various institutions. She was honored with the National Leadership Legacy Award from the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS).

Throughout her more fourteen years of professional experience, her commitment is fostering urban landscapes that are sustainable and just in the face of the complexities of urbanization.

Lucía’s experience includes participatory planning processes in México City, Bogotá, Cali, and New York. These initiatives encompass co-designing plazas, linear parks, and pedestrian, cycling, and transit infrastructure.

Lucía has also led data collection efforts, public policy updates, and capacity-building events. Her aim is to collaborate to create positive change in the evolution of urban environments.
